父の日プロジェクト 2026

こんにちは、Gemeggファミリーの皆さま！

今月は、子どもたちが父の日に向けた特別なプロジェクトに取り組んでいます。

今年は、プラバンを使ったオリジナルキーホルダーを制作しています。お父さんはもちろん、自分を大切に見守ってくれている特別な人のために、一人ひとりが心を込めてデザインしています。

現在は制作の2週目に入っていますので、通常通りレッスンにご参加いただいている生徒さんは、今週のレッスンで完成したプレゼントを持ち帰る予定です！🎁

今回のプロジェクトでも、アートと英語を組み合わせながら学習を進めています。

制作前にはブレインストーミングシートを使い、「その人らしさ」について英語で考えました。

例えば、

・メガネやネクタイなど見た目の特徴

・コーヒー、ラーメン、カレーライスなど好きな食べ物

・サッカー、料理、キャンプ、温泉などの趣味

・好きなキャラクターや動物、色、思い出

など、たくさんのアイデアが出てきました。

また、ワークシートを書く中で、子どもたちは英語のライティングやスペリングにも挑戦しました✏️

特に今回よく練習したのが、

**"How do you spell _____?"（_____はどうやってスペルするの？）**

というフレーズです。

書きたい単語があってもスペルが分からない時、自分から質問し、新しい単語を書き込む経験をたくさん重ねました。

すでに知っていた生徒もいれば、今回初めて使った生徒もいましたが、繰り返し使うことで自信を持って質問できるようになってきています。

また、このフレーズは様々な場面で応用できることにも気付き始めており、自分から学ぶ力にもつながっています。

子どもたちが大切な人のことを思い浮かべながら、心を込めて制作する姿がとても印象的でした。

作品だけでなく、「感謝の気持ちを形にすること」「自分の考えを英語で表現すること」も、このプロジェクトの大切な学びとなっています。

Hello Gemegg families!

This month, our students have been hard at work creating a special Father's Day project.

This year, we are making custom shrink plastic keychains for our fathers, or for a special person in our lives who takes care of us. Each keychain is completely unique and designed with a specific person in mind, making every project meaningful and personal.

We are now in our second week of this project, so if your child has attended their scheduled lessons as usual, they should be able to bring their Father's Day gift home during this week's class! 🎁

As always, our projects combine both art and English learning. Before creating their keychains, students used brainstorming worksheets to plan their designs and think about the things that make their special person unique.

Students came up with all kinds of wonderful ideas, including:

* How their father looks (glasses, a tie, a beard, etc.)

* Favorite foods (coffee, ramen, curry rice, and more)

* Hobbies and interests (soccer, cooking, camping, onsen visits, and many others)

* Favorite characters, animals, colors, and special memories

While completing their worksheets, students also practiced English writing and spelling ✏️

Often, they wanted to include words they had never written before, which gave them a chance to practice an important English phrase:

"How do you spell _____?"

Some students were already familiar with this phrase, while others were using it for the first time. Throughout the project, we saw many students become more confident asking questions, repeating new vocabulary, and writing independently.

They also began to notice how useful this sentence pattern can be in many different situations, helping them become more active and independent English learners.

We have loved seeing the creativity, thoughtfulness, and care that students have put into these gifts. More than just making a keychain, they have been thinking deeply about the people who support them and finding ways to express their appreciation through both art and language.
